“Why so serious?” asks the Joker… the drama of evil is serious stuff with terrible consequences. It is not as apparent with clownish appearance & laughter but in this part of the world with its fine lines & enth degrees & a major emphasis on entertainment, pleasure & happiness it’s not hard to appreciate how lines can become blurred.

In the Christian world view evil has been dealt with on an old wooden cross. It’s not the half man half bat creature with extreme technology & engineering that will overcome evil but Jesus…Fully God, fully man. The Bible tells me my evil too can be “taken out”; no longer do I need to be captive to my dark side. The light of God has appeared… He has overcome evil & death. As the Joker took his rebellion to the people of Gotham, we too are in a state of rebellion against God, but it doesn’t have to end that way...
Jesus said...
“Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep.  All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture.  The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep... John 10: 7-11

Water…life sustaining water…pure & fresh drawn from a well. Jesus in John 4:13 tells a Samaritan woman that anyone who drinks this kind of water will thirst again.

Jesus offers water from above, a soul quenching drink that washes away the corrupted nature of our being, a lasting flow that cannot dry up. Jesus streams the knowledge of God & many Samaritans believe.

Along the roads of Roman influence walks God himself, walking with humanity in humility with a heavenly wisdom. Beyond the man-made rules of philosophy, physics & naturalism God enters in to our time & space imparting wisdom that still changes lives today. The burning sand of the soul becomes a ground bubbling spring Isa35:7

Dodging life’s bullets…& why am I a target anyway... Some things don’t change regardless of the seasons. Decoys abound with the promise of happiness or knowledge that leads to wisdom.

T shirts & Stickers impart their wisdom, books & blogs too. Songs, moving pictures & still ones have their sway on our emotions & value systems at times exploding in our hearts & minds

So…can I stop life’s bullets with a gesture of my hand or a body position near impossible. For me the answer is no, but I can put my hand in the hand of that man that stilled the stormy sea, I can join my hands in prayer & pray to Him. Believing in the one whom God sent…..Jesus.
