Eternal connection

Getting together, gathering together can be a time of great encouragement. It may not come easily for some but like a building or a body each part combines to fulfil a function or purpose depending on the primary goal.

In the church when we gather together our perception of God becomes all the more. As much as we still experience struggles with sin & our sanctifying walk with the Saviour on an individual level in an imperfect world & church, God meets with the family of faith by His spirit. Touching our hearts & lives together as one body, Jesus is still at work lifting spiritually empty, lost & darkened hearts out of an inescapable pit into the green pastures of the heavenly kingdom for His Names sake.

Sublime Divinity

While the mundane & monotonous seeps to numb our being like oppression slowly stealing our joy discolouring our environment of its purity, the Christian has good reason to be glad in Spirit. The sublime touches our being… eternal hope is restored.

In Christ our God sadness is turned to joy. Our inward sighs make way for smiles of thankfulness. This sin stained world has lost its hold on me.

Because of the LORD’s great love
We are not consumed...For his compassions never fail.

Lamentations 3:22

Clean screen

For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people.
It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions,
and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.
Titus 2:11-12

Are we there yet...

The Christian life is far from easy, blessed as it is. The difference between our expectations & God's wise way of doing things can often cause us to wonder in our limited understanding. Justin Taylor has provided a nice piece that addresses life's struggles from the Christian world view & God's redemptive heart.

Going forth in faith & multiplication.

There is no doubting the creative ability of humankind. It seems the longer we live the more we advance in knowledge & ability. A thriving modern Babel of towers & tunnels building on discovery after discovery…The only problem is humanity is prone to make mistakes also & the stories of history don’t seem to have made us much wiser.

It would also appear that the heart of humankind has changed very little if at all & although some scientists may disagree…money makes the world go round & we just can’t get enough. In Ps 115 :16 we are given a measure of wisdom regarding life on the blue & green celestial orb. “The highest heavens belong to the LORD, but the earth he has given to humankind.” Mars may seem to hold certain mysteries but so did height so many years ago regarding Babel. At the heart of things, has anything really changed at all or are we just prolonging things a bit longer & further…

There is a certain kind of beauty & wisdom in recognizing your limits that keeps you from harm, we expect this of our society, our bodies & belongings in many & various ways but such is our nature, taking it to the limit one more time, one more for the road or once more from the top enters into our life spanning & prolonging the experience. As earths tenants manage & labour its resources like a candle burning at both ends to the motto of infinity & beyond expecting conformity like machines every day the heart of faith holds on to something more precious & dear than life itself…the life maker & giver.

Not to us, LORD, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness. Psalm 115:1

Digital art n craft day

Working between Powerpoint, Picasa 3 & PaintShop Pro/Corel (An unexpected gift from my eldest daughter) allows for much visual creativity. Paintshop Pro is a bit complicated but easy when you know how, something I am slowly discovering. I have just learnt to do picture tubes which are like clip art with transparent backgrounds. I had an image of a bi-plane/tiger moth from many years ago that I re surfaced from the depths of archival stuff. It is now implanted above a digital jungle layered with clouds & a river running through it.

Pacific Ocean & recollections of Reepicheep.

nearer still nearer,
while life shall last,
til safe in glory
my anchor is cast
through endless ages, ever to be
nearer my saviour, still nearer to thee
nearer my saviour, still nearer to thee

Mrs. C. H. Morris

Freely receiving a taste of heaven (from where Christ came) here on earth is our greatest cause for motivation (Col 2). To know by faith that it will be magnified in purity to an ultimate perfection across every realm of relationship & environment is indescribable. Now we know in part & labour to that end, nearer & still nearer. Your love is better than life (Ps 63)

and certain of what we do not see.

God...always on cue.

Lately my head has been expanding internally somewhere in my mind. I have been getting acquainted with some new ideas as well as being challenged in my beliefs by Atheistic philosophy. If I could just quote Bible verses & paint pictures my life would be a lot more leisurely & agreeable. From what I can tell I am being stretched…undoubtedly for my good & my salvation (Rom 8). God assures me of this…the Bible tells me so in a tone of encouragement.

My son has just been introduced to algebra & experienced something similar, more rules, more logic & more learning. There are some things that come the hard way, pushing our limits to further our understanding. What my son missed in the classroom (if it was taught) was compensated for in the provision of an older sister at the dining room table & our chalk board.

Whatever our circumstances, whatever our situation the sovereign reign of God has it covered. According to the testimony of Scripture & saints past & present there is nothing random & chaotic about it…Our God reigns. We don’t have to be supermen, wonder women or spectacular siblings to achieve great things…What is required is trusting & obeying. God is interested in our hearts as much as our heads.

He has shown all you people what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.  Micah 6:8

Priorities

There is some really helpful information on the web so easily accessible via the net.

Lately I have been commenting on a few blogs as well as seeking some extra income. Having to prioritise means the time I usually commit to Aquaduck has not been available.

Here is some Biblical wisdom for the modern world...

Nile, Nebo(Mt) & the New Jerusalem

“God manifests himself by acts in the realm of human history.( I will take you as my own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the LORD your God, who brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. Exodus 6:7) But also by acts in the realm of nature, for He is Creator & Lord of all. He is always greater than nature & reveals Himself through it, but is never to be confounded to it.”

New Bible Commentary IVP.
