The north & south of morality

If you think I go on about gay marriage or relationships try checking out a few media outlets that pour out their propaganda in the name of equality.

Morally speaking heterosexual marriage can never equate to gay marriage even if they share various aspects.

Morality comes from God, evolution believes we are forces of nature free to decide what is wrong & what is right.

God doesn't change, people like shifting shadows often do. God is light & in Him there is no darkness.1 John 1:5-10. Some things gain or lose momentum, God remains the same, strong & constant.

All you need is truth

The work place school place has become a soap box of sermons for society at large. Harmony Day (Orange) & Diversity Day (Purple) are supposed to be about tolerance & understanding. Yet there is an incredible amount of energy being utilised to force Scripture lessons out of public schools, Scripture lessons that are not even compulsory.

The new church(secular belief) & state are far from tolerant when it comes to Christianity because of its faith testimony regarding the Creator God yet secular belief appears to cling to non -living matter miraculously transforming into living matter without any evidence what so ever.

When it comes to the colour purple & cloth I recall the business woman Lydia, who came to Christ through the message of the Apostle Paul. Acts 16:11-15. It is a good thing to have our hearts & heart open, but not to everything. God in His discerning love has shown us that some things just don’t mix & should not be encouraged, some things are better defined by purity not impurity. We are warned not to blend in when it comes to worldly philosophy & post modern 'truths'. All those truths cant be right anyway...stand firm & keep your colour pure. Love  without truth cant be love.

Mix all those colours together & you get dark black

Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going,
so how can we know the way?”  Jesus answered,
“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
John 14:5-6

Dances with Dinosaurs

Lets face it, ducks have the upper hand,
or wing or webbed foot or what ever you would like to name it...
a foe to be feared, a champion of time...

I like sea turtles, although they struggle on dry land & can seem like vulnerable prey at times (lambs to the slaughter), when they hit the cool water & the wide wide deep deep ocean it’s a different story. They find their sea wings & fly like a bird.

So often in the voice over you get the evolutionary dogma when it comes to documentaries on nature & its laws but the evidence is lacking.

I worked on this craft yesterday while having some time out. I picked up some textured card off cuts from a printing factory years ago & it is still coming in useful some 20 years later. Waste not want not. Some colour pencils, a pair of scissors, double sided tape & some stick on ‘black plastic jewels’ & you have yourself some art & craft by design.

A big glowing book worm

My wife works in a school library as an assistant. Every now & then I help her with a display. The theme this year for book week is ‘Books light up our world’. I like thinking up designs, I made a tower of books that illuminate thanks to some Christmas lights (& electricity) inserted into the centre of the structure.

God also long suffers

Foolishly, I don’t always take hold of the forgiveness of sins that has been plainly demonstrated at the cross & declared in the pages of Scripture. It’s too easy, too free, & me being a sucker for punishment I labour on believing I am unworthy of God’s wonderful love & power to save.

It must be for others, me, I am just meant to take hold of my miserable & oppressive situation in a kind of limboesque mental utopia of self pity or blinsidedness…

Not at all says Scripture…Acts 2:21. We are to continually call on the Name of the Lord. He hears us & delivers us, particularly out of the depths. God doesn’t stop being God. Acts 2:14-41. & Peter of all people should know.

Man shall not live by bread alone. Deut 8:3-5. Psalm 103:1-22.Take hold of it.

Out of the land of slavery

Many assume that secular equals neutral, but in fact secular equates to putting the brakes on belief while secular belief drives us further away from God. It may at times have the appearance of godliness but its running gear (engine, transmission & axles) is the devils design for autonomy. You won’t find freedom there, only slaves to sin.

Our Sunday best & worst

Christian worship is more than going to church once, twice or more a week. We can after all commune with God & praise Him anywhere anytime, happy or sad, day or night. In this though God has also called us into relationship, not just with Him but with one another, one body many parts & you don’t have to be an individual survival expert from the stoic zone.

We come together as family, brothers & sisters of the one heavenly father, although we are imperfect & often get it wrong through every fault of our own doing…God’s grace is welcoming & more than enough, immeasurable in fact by any human standard. Amazing Love, why would you neglect it…Heb 10:24-25

Godly structure

It was the ark that kept its occupants safe, the structure was ordained by God, so it is with the human family, a structure that mirrors God’s wisdom & love. Husband & wife & God willing fathers & mothers & children, order amongst those inclined towards chaos.

Saying 26.

Eat honey, my son, for it is good; honey from the comb is sweet to your taste.
Know also that wisdom is like honey for you: If you find it, there is a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off. Prov 24:13-14.

It takes a fair amount of effort to find honey, I doubt if the context or equivalent in the 21st Century is just go on down to the shop & grab yourself some choc or a lolly or something sweet, that would be a gross misrepresentation of the pursuit of wisdom & the building of godly character.

The bees know where the honey is & wisdom also may be found, not techno elitist jargon but wisdom from on high for daily living, producing fruit that is pleasing to God. The people of Jesus time thought John the Baptist may have come in the Spirit of Elijah but John himself pointed them to Jesus. Matt 3:1-12. Purity matters. Ps 19:1-14.

Patchwork History

For since death came through a human being,
the resurrection of the dead comes also through a human being.
For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.
 But in this order: Christ, the firstfruits;
then, when he comes, those who belong to him.
1 Cor 15:21-23.

We had a sermon at church today on the genealogy of Joseph & Mary revealing how Jesus Christ fits in with the expectation that the Messiah would come through the family line of David, yet the Messiah will reign forever & ever...

Ayyyyyy(the Fonz) Ayzzzzz(me)

My life doesn’t have much ‘flare’ at the moment, it’s just ordinary stuff, doing jobs, chasing the clock & feeling tired. It’s not that I have anything to complain about & I have much to be thankful for, so much really, the blessing of ordinary stuff in a difficult, painful & often busy world.

I came across this 5 min youtube clip this morning of Tim Hawkins, a Christian comedian who plays a bit of guitar & he was expressing a bit of flare, probably Spanish or South American flare ( with technology) I would say by the sound of it, pretty funny really.

The closest I will get to cool & flare today will be
winding down a window in the van & I might try a bit of auto pilot….

In effect, My Scripture is Sufficient for you

The sufficiency of Scripture…The Bible is enough, it is sufficient, telling me all I need to know regarding Salvation & God. As much as I would like to think it may be better to know more, faith or trust is what Christians are called to do & grow in, if we needed to know more God would have revealed it. Just as God's grace (in Christ) is sufficient, 2 Cor 12:9. so is Scripture. 2 Tim 3:15-17. And let us not forget the indispensability of discerning love.1 Cor 13:1-13.

A kind of Splendor

The sun has one kind of splendor, the moon another and the stars another;
and star differs from star in splendor. So will it be with the resurrection of the dead.
The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; 1 Cor 15:41-42.
